Looks like we’re all going to have to catch a flight to Sydney in July 2020 because we don’t want to miss the Australian premiere of Broadway blockbuster FROZEN when it opens at the Capitol Theatre in just 18 months time!
Guys, we’re not coping with this news.
TOO. MUCH. EXCITE!
This will be the Broadway production's first international destination, so Australia is getting it even before the West End! How awesome are we! Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!
After around four years in development and with a reported budget of $US30 million, FROZEN premiered on Broadway in March last year, where it has consistently taken over $US2 million a week in ticket sales.
It was nominated for Best Musical at the Tonys last year, but it didn’t win, but we don’t care! It’s still the greatest thing that ever happened in musical theatre EVER.
The Broadway show takes a more "adult-focused" look at the relationship between sisters Elsa and Anna, and there’s quite a few new songs that weren’t in the movie, plus of course everyone’s favourite, Let it Go, which is an absolutely eye-popping and ear-popping spectacle when performed live on stage!
If you can’t wait to see the show at the Capitol when it opens next year, don’t despair – FROZEN 2 is due to come out at the movies this November!
