Award winning star of HEATHERS, GREASE - THE ARENA EXPERIENCE, HAIRSPRAY - THE BIG FAT ARENA SPECTACULAR.
Lauren graduated from The Victorian College of the Arts in 2011 as part of the inaugural Bachelor of Music Theatre class. She has extensive experience on and off the stage and is passionate about being a positive role model and mentor for young artists. This year, Lauren is touring with Grease: The Arena Experience by Harvest Rain playing the role of Pink Lady Jan. She is delighted to return to the company after starring as Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray: The Arena Spectacular and connecting with thousands of incredible young performers from all around Australia.
Lauren had her breakout role in 2015 when she played Martha/Ms. Fleming in the critically acclaimed Australian Premiere production of Heathers The Musical at Hayes Theatre Co. and the Australian tour which had successful seasons at Brisbane's QPAC, Melbourne's Arts Centre and The Sydney Opera House in 2016 (dir. Trevor Ashley). This dual role earned Lauren rave reviews and the 2015 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Newcomer. Other performance credits include; The Pirates of Penzance, Babette in La Cage Aux Folles (both The Production Company), Jewel in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (Squabbalogic's Mystery Musical) and Gwendolen in The Importance of Being Earnest (Citizen Theatre). During her time at the VCA, she played Oolie/Donna in City of Angels (dir. Gary Young) and upon graduation, toured nationally with Playing With Snails Theatre Company’s production of James and the Giant Peach playing a Ladybird.
Lauren is equally passionate about work behind the scenes, with experience as a director and acting coach for young people. Lauren has been involved in the production teams for The Sound of Music for Pymble Ladies College, Oliver! and Spamalot both with Newington College at NIDA’s Parade Theatre. She was Assistant Director for VCA’s production of West Side Story (dir. Martin Croft) and Company Eleven’s play Third World Blues (dir. Margot Fenley). In 2016, Lauren was thrilled to take on the role of Resident Director for the Australian Music Theatre Workshop in Brisbane, giving her a wonderful opportunity to work closely with aspiring young performers from all over Queensland. Lauren is the Editor-in-Chief for online creative hub, Youngharts Network, powered by Harvest Rain.
